Delegations and Trust

چکیده
One of the fundamental notions in a multiagent system is that of delegation. Delegation forms the foundation for cooperation and collaboration among the members of a multiagent system. In diverse environments such as those formed by open multiagent systems, the various members constituting the environment are customarily alien to one another. Delegation decisions in such environments are necessarily of a nontrivial nature owing to the fact that there is a lack of strong basis on which such a decision can be predicated. Trust is a primary social notion providing a foundation for dealing with disparateness in virtual societies. Trust facilitates de-alienation of the otherwise mutually unfamiliar components of a virtual society. This work investigates and alleviates the problems associated with delegations in multiagent systems by using delegation decisions predicated on trust.

Multimodal trust formation with Uninformed Cognitive Maps (UnCM)
This work describes a cognitive heuristic allowing agents to assess trust and delegations merging heterogenous information sources. The model is realized through Uninformed Cognitive Maps, based on the combination of: (i) categorization abilities (ii) history of personal experiences (iii) context awareness.
متن کاملDiplomat: Using Delegations to Protect Community Repositories
Community repositories, such as Docker Hub, PyPI, and RubyGems, are bustling marketplaces that distribute software. Even though these repositories use common software signing techniques (e.g., GPG and TLS), attackers can still publish malicious packages after a server compromise. This is mainly because a community repository must have immediate access to signing keys in order to certify the lar...

متن کاملTrust management and delegation for the administration of Web services
The availability and adoption of open protocols allow applications to integrate Web services offered by different providers. Moreover, simple services can be dynamically composed to accomplish more complex tasks. This implies the delegation of both tasks and permissions. In fact, delegation is intertwined with some notion of risk, on the one hand, and trust, on the other hand. Well founded soci...
